As a former athlete with dreams of becoming a professional baseball player, I have always had a soft spot for “underdogs” who had to overcome incredible obstacles in order to succeed. I love the never-give-up attitude and the will to keep moving forward, even if the odds are against you. I have made a list of five athletes that simply would not give up, and kept pushing forward in order to reach their goals. It’s just a small sampling of the many incredible athletes that share these same traits.

Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, I would assume we all can agree that the current state of our healthcare is under severe attack. We need to decide as a nation whether we want the government deciding our personal health choices.

Fluoride Linked to Heart Disease via Calcification of the Arteries

Here we go again. Just another reason why the use of fluoride should not be in our water supplies. A new study published in Nuclear Medicine Communications Journal has concluded that higher fluoride uptake in coronary arteries indicates increased cardiovascular risk. What researches found was that the fluoride uptake either overlaps with calcification or locates adjacent to the detectable calcium deposits.

Jillian Michaels Posts McDonalds Acrylamide Warning on Facebook

Jillian Michaels, one of the leading health and wellness experts in the country posted a picture of a 'McDonalds Warning Label' on her facebook page today causing quite the stir. She states: "A fan posted this picture on my wall. Apparently California is requiring a warning label be put on McDonalds foods. Like cigarettes. This is why I tell you to never eat this crap or feed it to your kids."

Trip to Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park

I spent the first 18 years of my life living in Central Maine, before moving to Florida as a senior in High School. As a family, we’d take day trips up to Bar Harbor and Acadia once a year. We celebrated my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary there as well. I always loved the area even as a young kid, but I never truly grasped how beautiful it really is, until my recent visit last week.
