Breathe Clean Air with a Negative Ion Air Purifier
It was March of 2007 when the quality of the air truly registered with me. I headed out to Southern California for a meeting with tennis stars Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova at the Pacific Life Open. I had an amazing time while I was there and remember waking up each morning to the small mountains in the backdrop and feeling totally refreshed every morning. It reminded me a lot of when I lived in Maine and breathed in the crisp-clean air each day.
My uncle lived in LA and so I decided to give him a visit before heading back home to Florida. While driving into the city, I noticed this huge cloud of pollution that stretched for as far as I could see. When I got to his place, he joked, “Hope you like this nice city air!”
That “nice city air” is extremely hazardous to our health. In fact, it’s tough to really find a safe haven from the harmful toxins that are currently in our air. It’s not just city air that’s bad, it’s basically everywhere, both outside and inside of our homes! When we take a breath of air, we are breathing either positive or negative ions, depending on the quality of air. Negative ions can create a feeling of euphoria and promote healthy cell building. They also increase the flow of oxygen to the brain resulting in higher alertness, decreased drowsiness, and more mental energy.
To give you an example, the air circulating in the mountains, near a waterfall, and at the beach is said to contain tens of thousands of negative ions. Is that one reason why we feel so amazing at those locations? On the other hand, the average home or office building contains only dozens or hundreds of negative ions, and many register at zero!
Keep this in mind; the air we consumed was once mostly negative ions. Today it is two-thirds positive ions. Positive ions cause feelings of depression, short attention span, irritability, fear, paranoia and anxiety. Just think about all the people who have to commute in heavy traffic each day, breathing in toxic fumes. These positive ions just amplify all the negative feelings we already have about the situation of being in traffic. And to add to that, long-term breathing of positive ions, such as what you inhale in traffic, creates long-term genetic damage.
Unfortunately, about 99.99% of us do not have the luxury to experience the negative ions daily from mountains, waterfalls, or beaches. I have searched for the past few years for the ultimate negative ion producer and I truly believe that they are the Air Oasis units. These units have technology that was developed by NASA.
I personally love the mobile air purifier as I’d rather have my air come from a negative ionizer, rather than the tail pipe of a car when I’m on the road. I also have a 500sq foot unit for my room and office, although the portable unit is great for your office as well, as it covers 175-275sq feet. Another great thing about these units is that they are not too expensive (just email me and I can give you some SHN member prices!). Before I started Super Health Nation, I tried a lot of products such as these ionizers, and I feel I have found the best. In today’s economy, budgets are tight, but we all consume 2,500 gallons of air a day! We might as well breathe air that will not only improve our health, but keep us in a good mood.
This blog only touched on the benefits of negative ions and I plan to write several more articles explaining in more detail how they help us. Perhaps one day we’ll return back to a world with natural clean air, filled with negative ions, but in the mean time, we can create our own personal oasis with these purifiers!
Yours in Super Health!
