The Coming Events in Regards to Your Health
It seems that wherever you look, there is some sort of fear being instilled into your psyche. In the mainstream news we have a constant bombardment of negative news stories, including brand new “credible terror threats”. Even many of the well known alternative news sites have used fear mongering almost daily in their articles. Fear is absolutely everywhere and it needs to stop, as it has a direct impact on our overall health.
There is a huge difference between fear and being prepared for whatever may lie ahead in the coming weeks, months, or years. I do my best to look at everything in a positive light and choose not to let outside forces affect me in a negative way. I do not fear what may be coming our way, but I have been getting prepared over the past year in several areas of my life. If I could only describe to you how much research I have done regarding the various aspects of the way our world functions, you’d think I was crazy. What I have learned through my research is there are forces out there keeping us from achieving Super Health. Events that may be coming our way in the near future may slow down our journey towards our ideal state of health even more, but I believe we all have the inherent right to achieve Super Health and am confident we will get there in time.
There are a number of possible scenarios of what may happen very shortly. Some things are easier to see than others, but there is a way to be somewhat prepared. For one thing, it’s never a bad idea to have a surplus of food and water. There are a number of super foods that can be obtained in bulk and last for 2-3 years or more. Here are some of my favorites as you can typically make a number of different meals with each:
Organic Beans – Black, Kidney, any variety really
Sardines in Olive Oil
Peanut Butter/Almond Butter
Organic Canned Chicken
Tuna Fish Packets
Quinoa, Purple Rice, Brown Rice
Organic Vegetable or Chicken Broths
Organic Soups
Foods such as those mentioned above are good to have in stock in case there are any disruptions in our food supply. Keep in mind that most grocery stores only have about 2-3 days worth of food in stock. Look what happened in Japan after the earthquake and tsunami, or New York during Hurricane Irene. The shelves were completely bare in only a few hours.
It’s always important to have extra water in the house. Besides jugs of water, or water bottles, one of the best options to have is a Berkey Water Filter. There are a number of different options to choose from and you can basically turn dirty swamp water into fresh clean drinking water.
An area that is absolutely never discussed, and should be for a number of reasons, is stocking up on your favorite protein powders, vitamins, minerals, and other supplements. We live in a world where we don’t have a clue what the FDA is going to ban and deem ‘dangerous’ for our health. There are rumors that there may be a complete ban on many whole food supplements by the end of 2012. How ridiculous is that statement? We can live in a society where cigarettes are legal, however many of our favorite natural supplements could be banned and only available in prescription drug form (at much higher prices mind you). I could go on forever regarding that subject but I’ll save that for another blog. The point is it’s always good to have a surplus of your favorite supplements on hand.
Keep in mind that if we actually do have disruptions in our food supply, minerals cannot be made in the body and must be obtained through our diet. That is why I believe it’s absolutely imperative that everyone have trace minerals (zinc, iodine, iron, & selenium to name a few) and other major minerals (such as magnesium, calcium, manganese to name a few) in stock at all times. Whether you just want to survive or achieve super health, your body absolutely needs minerals which the American diet greatly lacks. I personally use the Clinic's Choice Trace Minerals.
I completely understand that money is tight for a lot of people. Believe me, I understand! It’s all about priorities and where you believe your money is best spent. Most Americans are having a hard enough time living paycheck to paycheck. The value of the dollar is dropping; however the prices of goods are rising by the day. The way I look at it is that we all need food, water, and nutrients in order to survive. If finances are an issue right now, the only thing I can really recommend is thoroughly taking a look at where your money is being spent and see if you can eliminate or reduce any ‘unnecessary’ spending in order to “invest” in items that could be ultimately critical to your survival.
Lastly, it’s much easier to stay positive, with less stress or panic when you are prepared. Stress is extremely harmful to our bodies, and if we are presented with challenging times, having taken some of these few actions that I’ve described may give us some peace of mind and help diminish some of that stress and panic. You will know that you have the critical elements in place to get you through these tough times in a healthful manner.
While I continue to hope that the days ahead will not be as bad as many predict, there is always the uncertainty of natural disasters, terrorism, or other catastrophic events that could disrupt the country’s distribution centers. So be safe, be healthy, and be prepared!
