Trip to Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park
I spent the first 18 years of my life living in Central Maine, before moving to Florida as a senior in High School. As a family, we’d take day trips up to Bar Harbor and Acadia once a year. We celebrated my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary there as well. I always loved the area even as a young kid, but I never truly grasped how beautiful it really is, until my recent visit last week.
After living in Florida for the past decade, and being so involved in creating super health for myself and others, I saw the incredible value that Maine’s natural landscape has to offer. Everything about my trip to Bar Harbor provided an example of what Super Health Nation represents. Clean water, clean air, nutrition (minus the whoopie pie I had), exercise, and stress reduction were all provided on this trip.
When I first moved to Florida the first thing I noticed was how awful the water tasted. While in Maine, I could literally taste how pure it was. My girlfriend had never been to Maine before and thought the coast was absolutely breathtaking. We experienced first-hand how powerful the clean air is around mountains and the coast as it contains tens of thousands of negative ions. I’ve written about the importance of negative ions before (http://www.superhealthnation.com/blog/breathe-clean-air-negative-ion-air-purifier), and really noticed it while I was in Maine.
We hiked and kayaked alongside the coast which was strenuous, but invigorating exercise. It reminded me how those living in an area with higher elevations can get a tremendous natural workout just by doing simple exercises like walking and hiking. The sun was much hotter than usual while we were there (around 94 degrees), but the breeze off the ocean made it tolerable as we soaked in plenty of Vitamin D.
Overall the trip was an absolute pleasure by visiting with some extended family and experiencing all the benefits of what Maine’s natural landscape has to offer. I created Super Health Nation to help provide some resemblance of what our world would provide us naturally if it weren’t for the toxins pumped into our bodies and the pollution dumped into our water and air. With technology however, we have the ability to change our indoor environment to offset some of these physical stressors on our bodies. Pure water and pure air are within the reach of everyone through Super Health Nation.
